Case Study – Sandoms Interiors
Supplying a Holemaster 1030MC to bespoke interiors specialist, Sandoms Interiors
Based in Batley, West Yorkshire, Sandoms Interiors provides a nationwide service in shopfitting, interior fit-out, bespoke joinery and contracting to clients across a range of sectors, including for retail chains, high-end property developers, and large-scale contracting organisations.
With 35 team members and over 160 happy clients, some of which include Cuisine de France, The Edinburgh Woollen Mill, and Kolorcraft Group, Sandoms Interiors has been delivering quality, bespoke interiors for over 20 years.
“We have used VWM previously for other machines, so they were already well known to us,” explains Sandoms Interiors Operations Manager, Dean Draper. “When we contacted them, we were looking for something that could do elements of CNC work, but without the cost and footprint of a full-blown CNC machine; by elements I mean cabinetry doors and carcasses with hinge hold and connecting holes, for example.
“After assessing our needs, the team at VWM made the recommendation of the Omaksan Holemaster 1030MC. They conducted a demonstration of the machine for us, and when we were satisfied that this machine would satisfy the need we had, a package was put together with minimum fuss and our order was placed.”
“The project was delivered smoothly by our team,” says Scott McDermott, CNC Support at VWM. “We removed the old CNC machine they had on site and repositioned another, levelling it up before installing the new machine. Once the 1030MC was in place, we delivered on-site training to make sure the Sandoms team were comfortable with operating it and would know how to get the most out of it.”
“The 1030MC fits our needs perfectly, leaving our existing CNC free for more complex and shaped work, and it has now become a mainstay of our machine shop. It does exactly what we were looking for; our production times have improved along with our error count, and we can’t imagine life without it.
“We would heartily recommend VWM and will use them again without hesitation for any future machines we may need.”
